Join- Fees, Form, Rules, Info

Thank you for your interest in joining Scooter’s Indoor Speed Club.  We’re glad you decided to join us!  Before signing up, please carefully read these notes and instructions:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Roller Sports Canada membership is required.
  • All waivers must be signed. whether for Membership or for Guests. Download the document below.
  • All fees must be paid in full prior to participating. Download the document below.
  • Helmets use is mandatory.
  • To register as a member or attend as a guest, you must 1) print & sign the waivers, 2) print & sign registration form, 3) complete payment, 4) register with Roller Sports Canada

FEES

  • There are two fees: Club fee (money goes to the Club for operating expenses) and Rink fee (money pays for use of the facility- to the rink operator).
  • We accept cheques of cash. Please make cheques payable to Scooter’s Skate Club.
  • Guests pay $20 per skate
  • Membership form includes all the pricing information

MEMBERSHIP FORMS

  • Please print and bring with membership form/ guest waiver and payment.
  • Membership forms must be completed and submitted with payment and waiver on-site (at practice) PRIOR to participating in the program and skating.
  • Please sign-in, every time, immediately upon arrive using the sign-in sheet.

WAIVERS

  • Please print and bring with membership form/ guest form and payment.
  • Two waivers are required for membership: Rink Waiver and Club Waiver.
  • Guests: those who are guest skating must complete a Guest Waiver

EQUIPMENT RULES

  • The use of a proper fitting helmet is mandatory. The helmet must be secured and worn at all times while wearing skates, whether on or off the skating floor, while in the Scooter’s Roller Palace facility.
  • Skaters are encouraged to use additional protective equipment including wrist/ palm protection, knee & elbow protection.
  • You can bring your own water bottle.
  • Those who sweat excessively are asked to wear a headband/ bandanna and/ or bring a towel. Sweat drippings on the floor creates a slip and fall hazard and prevents practice from continuing.

SAFETY & ETHICAL RULES

  • Guiding Principle: The Scooter’s Indoor Speed Club offers a safe, inclusive, healthy and positive climate for its members. This includes taking a stance against racism, sexism, hetero-sexism, unsafe behaviour, discrimination, and harassment. This Guiding Principles permeates all policies, programs, practices, and operations of the Scooter’s Indoor Speed Club and its members when in practices, training, travel, events, gatherings, and competition.
  • Those who sweat excessively are asked to wear a headband/ bandanna and/ or bring a towel. Sweat drippings on the floor creates a slip and fall hazard and prevents practice from continuing.
  • Water bottles must be left off the floor and can be used when in the seat area. This is to avoid water spillage on the skating surface.

  • Skaters are expected to skate safety while in groups, when passing, and when getting passed.
  • Please look both ways before entering and exiting the skating surface.
  • The coach’s and/ or instructor’s instructions must be respected. The coach and/ or instructor has the authority to stop practice, to ask those who are displaying unsafe and/ or unethical behaviour to leave practice, without being given a refund.
  • Please change using change-rooms #1 and #2.
  • No personal listening devices/ ear phones to be used while skating and/ or on the floor. This is for safety reasons and for insurance compliance.
