The next Scooter’s Indoor Speed Club Invitational competition will take place on February 22nd.

Scooter’s Indoor Speed Club Invitationals- January 25th & February 22nd

The Scooter’s Indoor Speed Club will be holding two Club Invitationals. The first will be on Sunday January 25th and the seconds on Sunday February 22nd.

For both events, doors open at 8am and registration is from 8:30am to 9am. General warm-up will be from 9am to 9:10am followed by races until 12 noon.

Entry Fees: RSC Members $5, Non Memberd $10

Two Divisions
A. Mainstream Categories: Elite Men, Advanced Men, and Open Women.
B. Beginner – Novice Categories: Kids – Girls, Kids – Boys, Adult Men & Adult Men.

There will be no RSO Indoor Points Series this year. Instead our Scooter’s Club will hold two club, Open Invitationals on the dates as indicated above. These will be held to offer everyone a chance to apply their indoor speed skills in a  fun competition experience. Prizes will be given out for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place for each category at the completion of each competition. We will use a modified RSO Points Series rules to suit. We hope you will support and participate in our club competitions to help make them as successful as possible.

Clinic With World Champion Yann Guyader- Montreal, January 17-18

Yann Guyader, 2008’s World Inline Cup and World Champion, will be holding a skating clinic with SpeedSkateWorld.com and VRL Le Club in Montreal. The clinic will take place on January 17th and 18th- for more, visit Clinic With World Champion Yann Guyader- Montreal- January 17-18 2009.

January- Happy New Year: Practice Updates & Get Your Forms In

Happy New Year!

Now that the winter holidays are over, the practice schedule resumes this Sunday January 4. Sundays thereafter will be at the usual times for both A & B groups.

Please note that Monday Jan 5th practice has a later start- that’s 9:30pm to 11:00pm- this is due to a private party. Please arrive at 9pm to help set up.

All Mondays starting January 12th to the end of the Indoor Season will be 8pm to 10:00pm. Please arrive at 7:30pm.

Wednesdays practices will continue  9:30 to 11pm as usual.

2009 RSC Individual Memberships are now due. Make sure you complete and hand in your form & money because you must have RSC Insurance to continue skating with the club.

Sleep In! Tomorrow’s Practice (December 21st) Cancelled

Tomorrow’s practice- Sunday December 21st has been cancelled. Sleep in! The news is there is no change in the expected weather for the morning. The storm is to drop snow overnight and continue into early afternoon. Conditions are supposed to be similar to Friday’s storm.

Snowstorm Coming Sunday, Jan 5th Practice Change, December 22/ 24/ 29/ 31 Practices Cancelled

There is a possible practice cancellation this Sunday, December 21st- Please phone the Hotline # 647 831- 6364 before heading out to this Sunday’s practice. A message will be posted at 6:05am. As you are no doubt aware we are due for another snow storm on Sunday. Depending on the severity, we may have to cancel both A and B practices.

Other changes
Monday January 5th’s practice will be a one and a half hour practice from 9:30pm to 11:00pm due to a Private Party booking. Please arrive at 9.00pm. All remaining Monday practices up to and including March 2nd will be 2 hours.

Reminder
Monday and Wednesday practices on December 22nd, 24th, 29th,  and 31st have all been cancelled.

Sunday Practices will continue as planned as long as the weather allows for safe driving conditions.

Roller Sports Canada- 2009 Membership Forms- Get ‘Em In!

Hey Scooter’s Indoor Speed Club-

As 2009 fast approaches, so does the time that we all have to download, print, fill-out, pay for, and send our Roller Sports Canada annual memberships. The membership runs from January 1st to the end of December 2009.

You’ll find payment information, family fees, and everything you need to know when you download, print, and read this form.

Practice Cancellations, Increased Practice Times

There are a number of cancellations and changes to our practice schedule this month-

• Sunday December 14th- ‘A’ Program only- Doors open 7:30am, practice 8am to 9:30am, NO Youth/ Junior ‘B’ 9:30 – 10:30am programme due to a private party booking for 10.00am. The make-up practice for the Youth/ Junior ‘B’ group will be April 19th.
• The December 7th make-up time for the Youth/ Junior ‘B’ group will be an addition of 30-minutes on April 5th & 12th sessions.
• Monday December 22nd- No practice at all for anyone- private party (make-up time will be adding 30-minutes to Mondays).
• Wednesday December 24th- No practice – Christmas Eve (make-up time by a club event on a Sunday – more on that later).
• Monday December 29th- No practice – Public Session in School Holiday (make-up time will be adding 30-minutes to Mondays).
• Wednesday December 31st- No practice- New Year’s Eve (make-up time by a club event on a Sunday – more on that later).

Increased Monday’s Practice Times- 2hrs (8.00 – 10.00pm -Doors open at 7.30pm) for the following days:

• December 15th
• All January Mondays – 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th.
• All February Mondays – 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd.

Coming This Sunday- Mike Garvin

Ottawa’s Mike Garvin will be stopping by our club for practice this Sunday. Our goal is to impress him, so come with your best skates & wheels as well as your snasiest skin suit, coolest helmet, and be ready to skate with your best technique

This is also a reminder that this Sunday’s children’s/ youth programme is cancelled due to a private party booking.
