2009-2010 Season- Schedule, Coaching, Floor Cleaning, Sunday B Program, & Forms

The 2009-2010 season begins this Sunday,  November 1st at 10am. Doors open at 9:30am. Don’t forget that about daylight savings is this Saturday evening, which means you get to sleep in a bit.

Sundays

  • 10am to 11:30am- Advanced & Elite program
  • 11:30am to 12:30pm- Children & Beginner program

Mondays

  • 8pm to 9:30pm- Advanced & Elite program

Wednesdays

  • 9:30pm to 11pm- Advanced & Elite program

Please arrive at all practices one half hour prior to start time to be changed and ready to skate. To change, men should use party room #1 & women should use part room #2.

Coaching Programme

The 2009-2010 program will be designed by Head Coaches Peter Doucet & Leo Frusteri.  ”B” Programme coach is Eric Gee. Assistant Coaches include Eric Gee, Georg Nikodym, and Travis Shaw.

Floor Cleaning Set Up & Pack Up

This year membership in the club will involve actually taking turns in helping to prepare the floor and packing up. Everyone is expected to share in these responsibilities so arriving a half hour before practice time will mean there should be enough people to clean the floor. Further, each practice will not start until the members who prepared the floor are all ready to participate.

Sunday “B” Program

More participants will be needed for some of the activities. Skaters from the “A” program will be permitted to skate (at no extra charge) with the “B” group but must do so under the direction of this group’s coach.

All skaters – members and guests must sign in on the form before each practice. This form is always placed on the Snooker Table in the seating area.

Membership forms

Look on the right hand side to download and print the forms. Hard copies will be available at club practices. Please print off a membership form and print the club waiver on the back. Completing these before coming to your first practice will speed up the registration process.

To become or renew as a member you will need Club Membership form and appropriate fees,  Club Waiver, and Rink Waiver.

Guests will need a Guest Waiver and fees ($12.00 per practice) and a Rink Waiver

Scooter’s’ Travis Shaw Races In Ottawa Inline Indoor Invitational

Travis Shaw competed in this weekend’s Ottawa Inline Indoor Invitational in Gatineau this weekend. You can view photos here. In his report 2009 Ottawa Inline Invitational, Cor Beattie wrote about Travis, saying-

As you can see from the pics below, Travis Shaw (short track skater extrodinare) dropped in and represented Toronto with a very strong showing.  Although not a self proclaimed distance skater, he was a force to be reckoned with in the short sprints.  You can never turn your back on those Torontonians, they will sneak up on you every time.
